John Deere Showcases Augmented Reality Welding Simulator to IGNITE Students

This week, John Deere brought their AR (augmented reality) welding simulator to TechWorks, to let students in the IGNITE program test their skills, and learn more about advanced manufacturing career opportunities for them right here in the Cedar Valley.

The IGNITE program is a collaboration between Hawkeye Community College, the Waterloo Schools’ Career Center, TechWorks, manufacturing companies including John Deere, Viking Pump, Iowa Laser, Kryton Metals, and Doerfer Companies.

IGNITE Mastering Manufacturing is a foundational skills development program designed to teach the skills required in today’s advanced manufacturing world. This modular program includes a highly interactive e-Learning curriculum, computer simulations, design projects, and hands-on workstations.
